Argued January 19, 2001 Anthony Lamar Booker pleaded guilty to one count of possession of cocaine base (""crack"") with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a public housing facility, in violation of 21 U.S.C. sec.sec. 841(a)(1) and 860, and to one count of being a felon in possession of a weapon in violation of 18 U.S.C. sec. 922(g)(1). The district court sentenced Mr. Booker to 168 months' imprisonment, and Mr. Booker now appeals several aspects of his sentence. For the reasons set forth in the following opinion, we affirm the judgment of the district court. I. BACKGROUND
